The Miller Family

This was my last session from the end of the year.
I took the Miller Family's pictures a few years ago -- it was sooooo much fun then; and it was just as much fun this time around.
It was so much fun to see how the girls had grown (and another one joined the family)
and how their personalities had developed.
It was a gorgeous day (LOVE Colorado weather) and we captured so many great moments and memories.

Annica was more than willing to "strike a pose" for me. This isn't the only picture like this one.

Loyd Family pictures

I am coming to love taking extended family pictures.
The dynamic and the chemistry is just so much fun.
And I had both in such abundance with the Loyd family when we did this session right after Christmas.
The weather was absolutely perfect and the family was so much fun.
They had a great sense of humor and the boys were just antsy enough that I pulled all my best moves on them :)

Family Portraits: Zenger-Layne Family

I love it when friends call me to take pictures.
The results are always lovely.
Dave & Heidi and me and my Hubs hit it off when they moved into our ward a few years ago.
Alas they are no longer even in the state!
But we have remained in touch and close and typically see them when they come back in town to visit family.
Which was just what happened this Christmas.

I could've just put loads and loads of pictures on this post.
But I didn't --- you would've gotten bored.
I had so much fun taking these pictures.
The weather was spectacular.
The location was awesome.
The people were phenomenal.
What a great recipe for success!

The kids were such troopers.
But a little "Dad-toss" is always halpful to distract, even if just for a few moments.

They were having so much fun stomping in the snow....

Family Pictures: The Olsen Family

Christmas Eve morning. And it was a pretty chilly morning at that!
These guys were all such troopers.
Especially little Miss. S --- she was so cold!
But she, along with everyone else did a marvelous job and I love what we captured.
This was probably my shortest photo session EVER because of the cold.
No worries though.
As we were joking through it, we said that this would be a Christmas Eve memory to talk about in years' to come.

Family pictures: The Campbell Family

Rarely do I get the chance, as a photographer, to have toddlers and tweens in the same session.
Each provides its own challenges AND its own rewards.
The Campbells were so wonderful to take pictures of,
as they were flexible and willing to try different poses and walk around beautiful downtown Golden, CO to get the best pictures possible!

Family Pictures: The Foster Family

I did this session way back at the begining of the month and am just now getting some of the pictures posted.
I think that I was able to capture some seriously candid moments for this family.
Moments; that when looked back upon will be said: "yep, that is just like her!"

I can only hope that the family is happy with those kinds of pictures.
The kidlets were insanely adorable and Dad & Mom were so much fun to take pictures of.
The love and respect that each of them had for each other was so evident in their eyes and their gaze on one another.

....unfortunately....it was insanely windy!
But hey, who doesn't want the windblown look? :)

Isn't this just how it goes.
Mom is always trying to rally the troops for one more picture and she's the only one not looking at the camera.
I can't tell you how many family pictures there are of my little family where I am doing just that same thing....
actually, I think that it makes for a great "capture" photo.
It is just as life is.

Senior Portraits: Emma

This was, seriously, one of the absolute BEST sessions that I have ever had!
I had so much fun because Emma was so much fun.
She was up for anything and she had ideas about places and poses;
she had great outfits and acessories and she is just an all-around gorgeous girl!
(plus she had some seriously awesome shoes too!)

We gathered to really take Emma's Senior Portraits (next post!!!!) and were able to take some family portraits as well.
Everyone was so willing to try different poses and I am just so happy with the whole session!

Tambasco Family

Can we saw Awwww-esome?!?!

This was literally the best session for me.
Not only did I get to take pictures in a stunning location; but I got to take pictures of my utmost-favortie "non" family.

The reason I say "non" family, is because the Tambasco clan is practically my family.

My parents met Chris & Sherlyn in the '80's when my folks had four kids and they were newlyweds with no kids.
We figured out during this shoot that I was about 8 when we met and it's been a party ever since.

Whenever we go out to Utah to visit family, we always make time for the Tambasco's

So when a few of the sister's asked me to take their family pictures, I suggested that we make a it an all-family affair and do a large one.

I had the absolute BEST time!

My sister was my assistant, and I couldn't have asked for a better one (too bad she lives in the Seattle area or I'd be using her all the time!).

Lo-lo-lo-LOVE this shot of the sunflowers and the glow!!!! So adorable!

I had so much fun trying to corral a little 2 1/2 year-old into taking pictures!
And a BOY at that!
(I have my own challenges with getting boys to cooperate for pictures...)
But that little fella was a trooper and a total cutie.
Thankfully my camera was snap, snap, snapping and we got some great memories.
Mom and Dad were great at just smiling and going along with every moment.

I had given Soren a penny to keep secret while we were taking pictures. It was fun to see him get excited when I'd ask him where his penny was.

We mustn't leave little Miss LIly out of the fun.
I took her newborn pictures a few months ago and she is still just as cute as ever...
she was so sweet, even though she was wanting to take her nap.

Soren was DONE here....but he was still totally adorable and as you can see, as photogenic as ever!

I love this family.
I love Dad & Mom.

And there are THREE of them.
Born at the same time.

I was so thrilled (and lets be honest: nervous) when Andrea called me to take their family pictures.
Their triplets are turing 6-months and they were in need of some pictures.

Taking pictures of one baby can be challenging enough; THREE babies -- at the same time --- a little nerve-wracking.

But we did it (and before it started to rain too!!! Wahoo!)

I finally got around to taking his picture for his year birthday.

Their ceremony was so sweet, and they were so sweet, and their families were so sweet.

Lilacs

I love Lilacs.
Love them.
They are such a fragile flower.
They do not last too long when clipped, and have a heavenly smell.
But the best thing about lilacs is that they aren't just one flower;
but dozens of little flowers making up the whole beautiful thing.
This bush right outside our living room window has the flowers in the middle of blooming.
Their color is so very pale, and are on the verge of being white and not really lilac.

I've never taken pictures of one so new
(other than my own babies)
it was quite a challenge for me.
But I learned so much and can't wait to try what I learned on the next new little one!

Isn't this fella a handsome one?
This year we weren't all about the cutsie pictures for this guy.
We were there for a purpose --- and he definitely had is his own ideas about posing (love it!)

It all came down to our real purpose, which was creating this invitation. I think that the pictures turned out splendidly (he looks like he's 12, not 8!!! ACK!)

and the invitation is just as I pictured it would look like.

I had a blast taking this family's pictures on Saturday morning.
It was pretty cold when we started, but everyone was such a good sport.
(...and it helped that I brought along my super-awesome assistant to help with the kidlets--he handed our dum-dum's to them...)
I've known this family since I as about 17 or so.
Eliza and I were roommates in college right before I got married and she went on her mission.
AND Tess used to babysit my boys when she was still in high school (and they were still little guys)

...and may I say that this little guy is the CUTEST ever!
(and I have a gaggle of my own boys to fawn over in their cuteness...)
He was so willing to take pictures and so cooperative...I just had to snap this one.
And he was so obliging too.

This was such a delight for me.
These two were so much fun to shoot and literally "capture" being "in love"
(though; honestly, when is that ever a challenge with a couple getting married?)
This shoot spanned over a week as we shot their couple pictures the night before their sealing and then the reception was a week later.
I seriously had so much fun.

My baby brother got married two weeks ago
and this past weekend they had their open house here in Colorado.

Oh. My. Goodness.
I am one lucky gal!

We've been in Utah visiting family and friends for the past week and it was really just a fluke that I was able to snap Hillary's Senior Portraits for her.

I've known Hillary's parents since I was around eight or so when we lived in Utah. My parents befriended her newly-wed parents and our families have been friends ever since.

So I've know Hillary since she was a teeny-tiny girl and to have the privelage of taking her Senior pictures was beyond amazing. She (like her other four sister's) is just so beautiful it was difficult to pick just a few of my favorites to post!

doesn't she have just the most amazing almond-shaped eyes?!?

Momma wanted a few with the two of them....cuteness!!!

This is my ULTIMATE favorite from this shoot. And I'm pretty sure that it was just a random picture of me testing the light....but it is truly amazing!

OK, so I was called to take pictures of my Aunts', sister's son....confusing enough?
(this is the same Aunt that I took pictures of a few weeks ago with her grandkids.)
I was so flattered to be called and hired!
This is the first time that I've ever shot a boy
(a big boy, that is....my own little boys don't count in this equation)

It was so much fun!!! Cody kept me laughing the whole time.

What a delightful morning!
It was the first really warm day this year (predicted to be at least 70 degrees today!)
...and the perfect opportunity to take these two's engagment pictures.
We went to Historic Downtown Littleton and it was wonderful and we got so many great pictures. (but I'm only slightly biased...)

I honestly could not stop laughing the whole time I was shooting this adorable family.
Keelyn is absolutely hilarious and adorable and so, so smart!
(her hair was my favorite feature....you'll see why.)
I just had so much fun!

We had to get their pictures in before a storm came and scared us all indoors and because Daddy is going into basic for the Army really soon.
We wanted to make sure he had some great pictures take with him of his girls!

Sacred Joy

We had our Stake Primary Activity this morning. We all went to the temple and took a tour of the grounds.
The weather was beautiful and there were a lot of children. It was wonderful!
Even if my boys didn't pay too much attention to what was being said while we were there, I am hoping that they will remember one day, how they felt when they were there and want to return.

Even our young children have been encouraged to
visit the temple grounds and touch the temple.
President Thomas S. Monson once counseled,
“As we touch the temple, the temple will touch us.”

WOW!

Taking pictures of this family was such a great challenge for me -- and I mean that in the best possible way!

Chrissy was kind enough to humor me and let me take their family pictures. Taking pictures with little ones is always a challenge -- no matter what time of day it is.

It was so much fun and I learned a lot!

Ruby wanted nothing to do with the boys...there was no way that Mom, or I was going to get her to sit any closer to her brothers. :)

It was that time of the year again. Another birthday and another need for pictures...

The only way to get a happy picture out of this guy was to give him a red sucker.

At first, I stuck it in my pony tail as a kind of visual for the "after" treat....didn't work quite as well as I had hoped. But that is soooo ok. I am in LOVE with the way these pictures turned out. I've got such a cute 4 year-old!

Snowstorm

Today we got a FABULOUS snowstorm that lasted most of the morning. This afternoon, the boys and I went up to my parents house to play in the snow and I just could not resist an attempt at capturing some of the snow. These are pictures of the old bean vines from this past summer.

I just really liked the depth of the pictures and the contrasts between the white snow and the brown/tan of the dead vines.
